Globally, anti-feminist and authoritarian movements are on the rise. Their claims are as stubbornly alike as they are soberingly successful. In some countries, however, feminist movements and democratic parties have managed to turn the tide. Beacons of hope include an anti-democratic president ousted by a small margin thanks to the women’s vote or a vocal feminist movement leading the path to a change in government. Other feminist movements are standing strong in face of politics of patriarchal dystopia. All over the globe, inspirational examples of radiant and even triumphant current feminist actors and movements can be found. This event will showcase some of these examples with the intent to spread successful tactics and strategies and strengthen alliances. Bringing together acclaimed voices from civil society, academia and governments, the event aims to foster transnational feminist counternarratives.
